Cal Ripken Spring 2022 New Player EvaluationUpdatedWednesday December 22, 2021 byTreva Levine.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds everyone doing well. We wanted to reach out to you about another change to our evaluation process for the upcoming season. Members from past years may recall players heading to Ithaca College or Cornell to complete an evaluation process by the Cal Ripken Coaches and the Ithaca High School Baseball Players. Due to continuing COVID protocols we have had to make a small change. This year we are asking only NEW PLAYERS to the Cal Ripken program be evaluated. The evaluation process allows coaches and the league to try and draft equitable teams for the spring season. This years evaluation day will take place in early March at The Turf Room, 8 Verizon Lane, Lansing, NY 14850 (Located behind the Lansing Market). Please register your player by March 1, 2022.
Players will need to bring the following:
Due to spacing restrictions, we are asking parents to drop off players (yes you can walk them to the door to check in). We will then do a quick evaluation that will consist of running, throwing, fielding, pitching, hitting, and catching. The evaluation will take about 20-25 minutes to complete and then we will dismiss the players to leave. We will ask you to sign up for a specific time closer to the date of evaluation.
Also, we are looking for volunteer coaches for the upcoming season, especially in the Minors division. We have a great coaches training program and offer practice plans and support.
